Shed light on solar science with the Parker Solar Probe
Join Parker Solar Probe mission staff Nour Rawafi and Sanae Kubota to hear about key stops on their journey to learn more about our star. 1pm in Atherton Hālau. Open seating.
Keep cool in the J. Watumull Planetarium
Purchase a planetarium show ticket and get a free ice cream sundae from the Bishop Museum Café by Highway Inn to enjoy outdoors! Sunday, November 3 only, one per person, while supplies last. Planetarium tickets are available at Shop Pacifica or the Planetarium Lobby. $3 per ticket; free for 3 and under. Free for members.
Sing like Hawaiʻi’s native forest birds
Join Molly Hagemann, Bishop Museum Vertebrate Zoology Collection Manager, for Paʻē ka Leo Manu, an introduction to the songs of Hawaiʻi’s Manu Nahele. Learn to mimic the vocalizations of native Honeycreepers and imagine the songs of Hawaiʻi’s extinct birds. 11am in the Science Adventure Center. Open seating.
Set your eyes on the Sun from the Great Lawn
Safely view the Sun through solar telescopes with the Hawaiian Astronomical Society and the University of Hawaiʻi’s Institute for Astronomy. Weather permitting.
Orb-servations in the Planetarium Lobby
Visualize our changing Earth and Sun using NOAA’s Science on a Sphere and explore satellite technology in the Earth Observing Mission exhibit, closing November 27.
Craft with shadow and light
Explore the Sun through family-friendly craft and coloring activities on the Great Lawn.
