Reproductions Services & Permissions
The Bishop Museum Library & Archives provides high-quality copies of most photographs, artwork, manuscripts, maps, audiotapes, and videotapes. Please refer to our fee schedule (
140KB) for more information regarding formats and processing times.
Ordering Copies
We offer copies in a range of formats (e.g. traditional photographic prints, digital scans, and DVDs). Formats vary according to intended use. Note: Some formats (e.g. TIFF, BETACAM) are only available for non-personal use.
Paying for Copies
All orders must be prepaid using the following payment methods: cash, check, and/or credit card. For long-distance orders please supply the cardholder's name, the card number and type, and expiration date.
Permissions & Fees
You must complete an Order Form ( 1 MB) to obtain permission to use any Bishop Museum images (e.g. publications, broadcast programs, or displays). Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. We require payment of all fees prior to any use of Bishop Museum images.

Processing Times
Please keep in mind that our normal processing time is 14 business days. See Reproductions Fee Schedule ( 20KB) for more information regarding Rush Orders.
Receiving Your Order
Ordered items may be collected in person, via FTP site, or sent snail mail. Please supply a FedEx number or shipping account for special overnight/overseas deliveries.
Altering Images
When reproducing images, you cannot alter, colorize, or manipulate the image or work in any way. If you are unclear about design elements that may not adhere to the integrity of an item, please provide a mock-up of your intended product.
Credits
We require proper citation and credit. Basic descriptions of all archival materials are included with all purchases. Our labels will include the following: Reference number, creator, title, description, date, and collection. Library & Archives staff will happily assist you should you have any questions concerning captions.
Research
Bishop Museum Archives does not provide in-depth research services. There will be a charge of $50.00 per 30 min with a maximum research time of 2 hours (contingent upon availability of Lib/Arch Staff).
