New Start Time of 8pm for First Friday Nocturnal Program
Things are looking up at the Bishop Museum! The Sky Tonight is presented on the first Friday of every month by the Hawaiian Astronomical Society Vice President, Barry Peckham, in Bishop Museum’s Jhamandas Watumull Planetarium. The new program start time has changed from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. effective with the April 4, 2008 program and every first Friday of the month thereafter.
Admission is $4 for adults; $3 for Children (4-12); Free for Bishop Museum members and the Hawaiian Astronomical Society members. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly recommended and may be made by calling (808) 848-4168.
The hour-long lecture explores the seasonal Hawaiian skies and weather-permitting, is followed by a brief session looking at the real sky from the Planetarium’s rooftop viewing deck and through the telescope in the Observatory. The program will be ongoing throughout 2008. Bishop Museum’s planetarium and observatory often serve as the nerve center for astronomy events.
