CELEBRATE THE GROSS FUN OF GROSSOLOGY WITH SPECIAL PROMOTIONS AT BISHOP MUSEUM

HONOLULU – As if walking through a giant nose and crawling through a stomach wasn’t exciting enough, Bishop Museum has some upcoming promotions to celebrate its latest national traveling exhibit, Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body, where you can explore why your body produces the mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly and stinky things it does.

Daily at 12:30 p.m. ~ Meet a Grossologist

Meet a Grossologist is a new daily program featuring Bishop Museum education staff presenting some of the gross facts and fun you can learn from the exhibit. At the end of the 15-minute presentation, visitors will learn how to make some fake snot or vomit so they can recreate the amusement of the Grossology exhibit at home. The presentation takes place in the Castle Memorial Building, first floor, in the exhibit.

July 29 & 30 ~ Whoopee Cushion Weekend

The first 200 people on each day will receive a special Bishop Museum Grossology whoopee cushion. There will be special games and activities in honor of the noisy gag including whoopee cushion relay races for great Grossology prizes. Guests can also enjoy rides and slides from Heather’s Inflatables, delicious food, and other recreation throughout the weekend.

August 18 ~ Half-off Admission on Admission Day/Family Fun Night

Enjoy half-off all admission rates all-day and night at Hawai‘i's museum of natural and cultural history as a special promotion to mark this important day in Hawai‘i history. Also, celebrate the last two weekends of the Grossology exhibit with this fun family promotion. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Museum will remain open for a Family Fun Night, where families can enjoy the excitement of the Museum after-hours including the beautiful evening eruptions of the volcano in the Science Adventure Center! Guests can enjoy rides and slides from Heather’s Inflatables, delicious food, hilarious games, and engaging contests throughout the night.

Grossology is a collaboration between Science World, Advanced Exhibits, and Grossology author Sylvia Branzei. For more information, visit the Grossology website at www.grossologytour.com. Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body at Bishop Museum is supported in part by Horizon Lines.
