SAIL THE HIGH SEAS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR HAWAII MARITIME CENTER
**Center A Beneficiary of NCL’s Pride Of Hawai’i Gala Fundraiser Cruise**
HONOLULU – Help raise funds for the Hawai‘i Maritime Center by sailing the high seas! Bishop Museum’s Hawai‘i Maritime Center has been selected as a beneficiary of NCL America’s Inaugural Gala Fundraiser, “A Cruise to Nowhere,” on June 4, 2006 aboard its third and newest U.S.-flagged cruise ship, Pride of Hawai‘i.
Funds raised from the event will help to support the Hawai‘i Maritime Center’s educational programs, exhibits and collections. As an institution of Bishop Museum, the Hawai‘i Maritime Center offers visitors a look back at Hawai‘i’s extensive maritime history – from its discovery by Polynesian navigators 1500 years ago, to contact with the western culture, to the effects of whaling. Since its opening in 1988, the Hawai‘i Maritime Center has become a vital community resource for educational, cultural, and social programs by preserving and perpetuating Hawai‘i’s maritime heritage.
Cruise-goers will be among the first passengers on the Pride of Hawai’i, as the cruise sets sails on the evening of Sunday, June 4, the day before the ship’s first seven-day cruise. Guests on the charity cruise will enjoy an evening of culinary delights, a sail-away cocktail party on the pool deck, a broadway-style show in the Stardust Theatre, a comedy show, massage and facials in the health spa, dancing, and specialty gift items in the Galleria Shops.
Passengers may choose from a variety of cabins ranging in price from $400 to $2,500 for double occupancy. The Pride of Hawai’i includes new categories of accommodations, including elegant Courtyard Villas, which feature access to an exclusive concierge lounge and private courtyard deck with pool, hot tub and sundeck.
Cabin space is limited and reservations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so make your reservations soon. To book your cabin, contact any of the following travel agents: HNL Travel Associates, 591-2011; Non-Stop Travel, 593-0700; Panda Travel, 738-3886; or Regal Travel, 566-7777.
